HOW IT WORKS
Appropos Health is a digital therapeutic (DTx) for the treatment of substance use disorder (SUD). It automates a proven behavioral intervention called Contingency Management (CM).
For AUD, our 12-week intervention automates:

Remote biomarker collection (using our mobile app and BrAC device), verification, and results for each submitted sample in real time

Patient rewards management and distribution

Real-time machine learning (ML) risk score for clinician triage

Audit trail of adherence for payor reimbursement

Patient enrollment from EHR

Treating More than AUD
Our technology and intervention programs are adaptable to treat other SUD conditions:
Early liver transplant (ELT) for alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD)
Maternal substance use (prenatal and postnatal)
Stimulants
Opioids
Co-occurring substance uses or behavioral health
SCIENCE
CONTINGENCY MANAGAMENT
Contingency Management (CM) is a proven, powerful, and cost-effective behavioral therapy to reduce substance use, and it is the foundation of our Appropos Health platform. Learn how past studies have proven CM’s efficacy in the treatment of SUDs and patients’ pathway to recovery.
OUR ROADMAP
Our current collaborators include researchers, providers, public health organizations, and insurers to develop solutions related to alcohol-associated liver disease, harm reduction, and more. We would be honored to show how Appropos Health could be adapted to meet your business objectives.
OUR STORY
Transforming Lives Through Compassion, Care, and Connection
Managed Health Connections began not in a board room, but in a home filled with hope, resilience, and love. Over 20 years ago, our founders, Kim and Carol Johnson, adopted a 2-year-old boy who had been exposed to illegal substances at birth and removed from his biological parents’ care at 5 months. They knew his future would bring unique challenges — yet with their dedication and support, that little boy is now a thriving university graduate and working professional.
Their journey inspired our company’s mission:
To improve substance use disorder outcomes with technology that provides easier access to care.
